Home Care Aide

Home Care Program

Part-Time / Full-Time$17 – $22 / hr
Los Angeles & Southern California Non-Medical Home Care Multiple Openings Flexible Hours

Key Responsibilities

As a Home Care Aide, you will provide hands-on, non-medical support to clients in their homes throughout Southern California. Day-to-day duties include:

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene
  • Support clients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation as directed in the individualized care plan
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to dietary needs and client preferences
  • Perform light housekeeping duties including laundry, vacuuming, mopping, and dishwashing
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation and promote overall well-being
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, errands, and community activities as needed
  • Monitor and promptly report changes in the client's physical or mental condition to the Program Coordinator
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided and client observations
  • Follow the individualized care plan and adhere to all agency policies and procedures
  • Respect client confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries at all times

Job Requirements

All candidates must meet the following requirements prior to placement:

Age

Must be at least 18 years of age

Transportation

Valid California driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance

Background Check

Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening

Health Clearance

Negative TB test result or chest X-ray clearance required

CPR / First Aid

Current certification required (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

Physical Ability

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; occasional movement of client weight up to 200 lbs with proper technique and assistive equipment

Communication

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

Availability

Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays preferred

Qualifications

We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds. The following qualifications are preferred but not all are required — we provide training for the right candidate.

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in home care, caregiving, personal care, or a related healthcare setting preferred
  • Completion of a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program is a plus
  • Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) and non-medical care practices
  • Experience working with elderly, disabled, or chronically ill individuals
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient, and dependable character
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish, Armenian, Tagalog, Korean, or other languages) are strongly encouraged to apply
